Partnership Addresses the Growing Mobile Threat to Enterprise Security
Palo Alto, Calif. — September 15, 2016 – Skycure, the leader in mobile threat defense, today announced a partnership with Softchoice, a leading North American technology solutions and services provider to help companies protect their mobile devices against cyber attacks. With this agreement, Softchoice will offer Skycure’s award-winning mobile threat defense platform to limit the exposure of workforce devices to mobile malware, network threats, and app/OS vulnerability exploits.
The demand for mobile threat defense has increased exponentially in the past few months, thanks to malware such as Accessibility Clickjacking, Pegasus and Stagefright. According to a 2016 survey report by Information Security, nearly one in five organizations suffered a mobile security breach driven by malware and malicious WiFi. The report goes on to showcase data leakage and data loss as the top BYOD security concern among respondents (72 percent). Other concerns highlighted in the report include unauthorized access to data, the downloading of unsafe apps and malware at 56 percent, 54 percent and 52 percent respectively.
“With the sprawl of devices we’re seeing in market from an increasingly cloud-based and mobile workforce, we find many of our customers lack proper visibility into how big a risk certain end user behaviors are to their enterprise,” said Sara Onyschuk, Director of Client and Cloud Solutions, Softchoice. “Skycure adds another great offering to our IT solutions and managed services capabilities that not only gives our customers that visibility, it predicts and protects their devices from all types of threats, without compromising an employee’s mobile experience.”
Softchoice manages the technology needs of thousands of corporate and public sector organizations across the United States and Canada. Softchoice added Skycure to its mobile threat defense partner portfolio because Skycure is able to deliver deep threat intelligence to predict, detect and protect against a range of mobile threats. Skycure’s predictive mobile threat defense technology and proactive threat detection, coupled with Softchoice’s simplified sourcing, identity management and live support, provides organizations a comprehensive mobile security offering without infringing on user experience or privacy.
“Mobile devices are like a sieve to enterprise security—a million tiny holes that IT is constantly trying to plug,” said Davide Di Labio, VP Strategic Alliances and International Sales, Skycure. “The demand for Skycure has been unprecedented and we don’t expect it to slow down. Our partnership with Softchoice greatly expands our reach and is a significant step in the growth of our channel partner program.”
Skycure and Softchoice have already achieved success with a number of customers, including Republic National Distributing Company (RNDC), the second largest distributor of spirits and wines in the U.S. and 71st largest privately held company.
“Our employees live on their mobile devices so I can’t have a security solution that slows them down,” said John Dickson, Director of IT Infrastructure & Cybersecurity at Republic National Distributing Company. “We were extremely pleased when Softchoice combined Skycure mobile threat defense with Airwatch for EMM. The two products are like yin and yang, offering visibility and defense against threats right alongside my mobile management, that integrate like they were made together.”
