Symantec's Meg Layton will discuss Capture the Flag cyber security competitions and lessons learned from past cyber attacks
MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. – September 12, 2018 – Symantec, the world's leading cyber security company, today announced its presence at the upcoming Grace Hopper Celebration 2018, expected to be the world's largest and most influential gathering of women technologists, presented by AnitaB.org and the Association for Computing Machinery. Meg Layton, Director of Engineering for Symantec's Cyber Security Services business unit, will present as well as participate in a cyber security panel during AnitaB.org's annual event for women technologists, by women technologists.

Symantec's Meg Layton will speak at AnitaB.org's Grace Hopper Celebration 2018 from September 26-28 in Houston, Texas. Meg will present on Capture the Flag (CTF) cyber security competitions and participate in a panel discussion on improving cloud generation defensive strategies based on the lessons learned from past memorable cyber attacks.

Am I Ready for a CTF? What's a CTF Anyway?: In this discussion, Meg will clear up all of the mysteries of CTF competitions, illustrate the different types that exist and help discover when people are ready to participate in them.

Dr. Meg Layton is Director of Engineering for Symantec's Cyber Security Services business unit, working with a team of software engineers and security professionals to build and deliver the tools used by front line defenders in cyber space. She volunteers as a technical mentor for local CyberPatriot organizations and serves as an adjunct professor for colleges, teaching courses in information security, including computer forensics and risk assessment.
